Day 1 in NYC

You may have heard of a tasting plate in a restaurant - well here is a tasting plate in a BREWERY.  Yummo.

The Roaches at the Lego shop in the Rockerfeller Centre NYC.

Day 1 in New York was interesting and full on.
The weather was lousy - woke up to rain, and it continued most of the day - spent $4 on a new umbrella.  Temperature at 4:30 this arvo was just 6C.  Brrr.
Because of the rain we decided to make the day an orientation day - walked around Manhattan to get our bearings - found heaps to do and see.  The locals are really a friendly bunch and getting around is so easy.
Breakfast at Appleby's at Times Square was excellent - coffee was particularly good.
Found a great Deli (Cafe Metro) where we had morning tea, and lunched at The House of Brews.
Sounds like all we did was eat, but in reality we saw lots of things including the Rockerfeller Centre, Sacks on 5th Avenue (great designer clothing but well out of our price range) and St Patricks Cathedral.
The girls are loving the shopping, and already have some trinkets to take home.
Weather has cleared late in the day, and we are hoping for a better conditions so we can go to the top of the observation tower tomorrow.
Right now we are about to lift the lid off a cold beer and wine to celebrate day 1.
More tomorrow.
Cheers,
