What a day! Awake at 5.30am with a bang - Helen is still asleep and unable to wake up.
The three remaining muskateers leave her to it and set forth for a very early morning walk.
14 blocks later into a blustery and freezing cold south westerly, we head back. Temperature approx 5C, mood appox foul.
Upon return and rousing of Helen we head to the local Deli for a quick breakfast, then headed to Rockerfeller Tower - 67 levels above Manhatten (Magic). You cannot appreciate the sheer size of NYC until you see it from above... Hope the pics do it justice.
Onto Central Park where Maureen's fear of horses was conquered. An hour around the park in a horse driven carriage was sensational. That is such a great experience that everyone should do it at least once.
Saw Strawberry Fields Forever (near where John Lennon was assassinated) and we were amazed at the location. If the ice rink in the park had not been closed I am sure the girls would have busted a move or two on the ice, didn't get the chance - pity. The park is SO BIG. We marvelled at the sheer size of it, and were impressed that it wasn't manicured to within an inch of its life. It was just beautiful.
Changed apartments. Apparently the plumbing is no loner an issue. The new apartment is just great - corner of 8th Ave and West 50th St. Right in the business end of NYC just a stones throw from cinemas, bars and all the action. We are in heaven.
Dinner consisted of Steaks, Scallops (Helen says the best she has ever eaten) and chicken. Does it get any better than this. Love the Californian Wines. We will search for more of them.
Planning is under way for a ferry trip round Manhatten - after that who knows where the wind will blow us.
We will let you know.
More pics later.
Loving your blogs and pictures. Please tell Helen that she's had her one sleep in and now must attend your morning walks otherwise all those calafornian wines will wined up on the hips! :).
