Day 3 started as the evening before began - very cold - the temperature is about 3-4C. There was a sneaky breeze keeping the temperatures down, bit it was really lovely if you could find a spot in the sun out of the wind.
We set off for Boston on the commuter train, and met a lovely couple - Steve and Jenny who lived locally - they were really chatty and were delighted to show us the train stop and set us in the right direction for exploring Boston.
The city of Boston is beautiful. It is orderly, clean, well laid out, and very interesting. We saw the waterfront area, visited little Italy for breakfast, walked the streets and saw parts of the Freedom Trail (and Paul Revere's statue), strolled the Boston Common (a smaller version of Central Park) before finding lunch in the market district. Shopping at the fruit markets and for souvenirs and trinkets rounded out the day, before we headed back to the train for the hour long ride home.
Another really cold night saw us stoke up the campfire - along with everyone else in the campground. There are so many BIG RV's here it is ridiculous - and many of them are driven by locals who are just a few minutes from home having a weekend at the camp ground. Of course Brian has chatted to most of them and now has their life stories.
We were relieved to finally have the Blog up and running again, so that we can once again relay our adventures. It is funny how we now look forward to Blog time - creating, reading and publishing. We hope you guys are enjoying it as much as we are.
Tomorrow we head for Lebanon,Maine to see the friends that Brian & Maureen met on their European trip last year. They are excited about seeing Rick and Ellen, and we are excited to see Maine.
More to follow.
